General Questions

What is Postini?  Is it a real service or something “home grown”?

Postini is one of the largest and most well known anti-spam and anti-virus email filtering services and has been recognized as an industry leader for many years.  Postini boasts millions of mailboxes under management and over a billion messages processed per day.  Less than a year ago, Google purchased Postini, which goes to show how impressive the service is.

If it’s Google’s service, why don’t I just go direct to Google?  What does MX Resources provide?

For individual customers with less than 100 users, Google does not provide support beyond simple web pages and knowledge bases.  As a veteran reseller of Postini, MX Resources can provide support, both to you (the consultant) and your clientele, which would be unavailable direct from Google.

And don’t forget the residual income available to you as the consultant!

Is there a demo product or trial period?

Absolutely.  Try the email security service.  If you or your client is not satisfied, then cancel  the account. The first thirty days is a free trial.

Questions regarding the program

What is MX Resources?

MX Resources is a veteran reseller of the Postini email security service that focuses on bringing this enterprise grade solution to small businesses and their consultants. 

How much does the service cost?

The service costs $3.25 per mailbox per month with a set up fee of $50.00.  Additional email addresses that are aliases of a mailbox are not charged for.

How much is the residual income to consultants?

The residual income for consultants who sign up with MX Resources is currently $1.00 per mailbox per month. 

How long does the residual income last?

The income from any given client last as long as the account is active with MX Resources.

Are there any minimums?

The minimum monthly charge for any client is $10.00 per month, regardless of the number of boxes.   Beyond that, the client is charged per mailbox at the prevailing rate.

There is no minimum number of clients or mailboxes a consultant must bring to earn a residual income.

Technical Questions

Do we continue to use the same mail server?

Yes, you continue to use your own or your ISP’s email server, just as you were doing before.

What happens if our mail server goes down?

Postini provides queuing services called “spooling”.  When an email server is detected as down, email is queued for as long as required up to 1 gigabyte of information.  When the email server is detected as being back up, email is automatically de-queued and email begins to flow normally again.

What happens if Postini’s servers go down?

Postini utilizes multiple facilities to host their servers, with immediate redundancy and automatic failover.  Should anything happen to the primary data center, including normal scheduled maintenance, email is immediately and automatically re-routed to secondary data centers.
